ABOUT
Natalie Gross is a freelance multimedia journalist and podcast producer based in the Washington, D.C., area. She specializes in military and education coverage and has experience in breaking news, feature writing, data journalism and investigative reporting for local and national audiences. In 2019, she launched The Spouse Angle, a news podcast for military spouses and their families.
Natalie got her start in journalism covering schools for newspapers in New Mexico and Texas. Her stories earned awards from the New Mexico Press Association and the Texas State Teachers Association, as well as former New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez. After moving to D.C. in 2014, Natalie joined the staff of the Education Writers Association, where she maintained a blog about Latino education — a nod to her bilingual, bicultural upbringing as a Colombian American — and planned training seminars for members of the Spanish-language media. She went back into full-time reporting in 2017, covering higher education and the military-to-civilian transition for Military Times and its affiliated publications.
In addition to hosting web shows while at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal and Military Times, Natalie has made TV appearances on the American Forces Network and has been a guest on “Let’s Get After It” with Chris Cuomo and numerous podcasts. She has a master’s degree in journalism from Georgetown University.
